  • Good Old Games Open Beta  - Good Old Games, after a slightly lengthy period in an invite-only beta stage, has opened its doors for all to see and buy their non-DRM'd wares.
  • Free Overlord & Penumbra Overture - GameTap has added this week's selection of new games, including cluding a couple of freebies. Their new premium games are Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance and Treyarch's Die By the Sword: Limb from Limb. For you cheapskates, there are two new free games, as Codemasters' fantasy action/adventure Overlord will be free for the coming week, and Penumbra Overture is also now free, offering the chance to play the middle installment in Frictional Games' horror/adventure trilogy.
  • StarCraft II Beta in 2009 - During the BlizzCon 2008 show, a StarCraft II Q&A session was held with the long haired and rockin' Chris Sigaty and Samwise Didier. Among the answers they give, we are informed on what changed with Blizzard after the Activision merger (free Guitar Hero boxes to all employees), the reason for the trilogy (if you had not already heard about that lot already) and a confirmation that the StarCraft Beta will start in 2009!
  • Tom Clancy's EndWar PS3/Xbox 360 Gone Gold - Ubisoft confirmed that Tom Clancy's EndWar has gone gold. The voice-controlled RTS will release for PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 7.

  • Fallout 3 PS3 is Ugly - The internet exploded last night when an official Playstation magazine's story was leaked about Fallout 3. The article stated that the PS3 version looked worse than both the Xbox360 and PC versions. Of course, everyone took this as Xbox360 > PS3, so PSM3 has released a statement regarding the quote and clarifies their comments.
  • Street Fighter IV  to release after console versions - IGN reports that the PC version of Street Fighter IV will release after the PS3 and 360 SKU. All versions, however, are pinned for “winter” this year, according to that story.
  • Zombies in Liberty City? - There's a new advert on Rockstar's Social Club that has people speculating about the long discussed DLC for Grand Theft Auto 4 saying there's some sort of contagious disease outbreak
