GTA4 PC Improvements - briefly

The first details and shots of the PC version of GTA IV have emerged online today. Features revealed include a replay editor, better search options for matches online, the ability to play with a controller instead of keyboard and mouse (for all the masochists out there) and of course polished visuals worthy of the platform. - The number of multiplayer slots may be expanded for the PC version (16 is the limit for the console versions).
- The maximum resolution is 2560x1600.
- Players can record 30 second clips and then they can add filters and adjust the camera angle using the replay editor. They can also paste clips together and then upload them to R* Social Club for others to view online.
- Players can search for multiplayer games more specifically (e.g. a deathmatch with pistols only).
- The Xbox 360 controller is compatible with the PC version.

exactly.. what kinda of fucking morron would want to play GTA on PC without a mouse (its still a third person shooter with an aim rectacle, if you want to aim with an anologue stick you are masochist)... ofc if they make a shity port, then perhaps its not surprising they are trying to promote using a 360controller already, perhaps because the mouse/keyboard implementation and customization will be SHIIIT or non existant.

but hopefully not, and perhaps 32+player multiplayer matches... and whatever other improvements need to be made for a better pc gaming experience which should be better. Personally i'm counting on strong modding and customization will make this game worthy of purchasing.

let me guess... you didnt try playing the game with a controller for any extended period? its actually very good - even for 3rd person shooting, and the driving controls beats a keyboard any day.

I've tried to play it long enough to want to smash my controller.
As if Halo 2, Halo 3, Gears of War, Far Cry and Mass Effect hadn't tought me a lesson already.
It feels like playing with goddamn boxing gloves and sucks all the fun out of those games for me. I didn't complete any of those games except Halo 2, and only cause I caved and bought it for the PC.
I admit that driving is a bit easier with the controller, but that's only cause keyboard keys aren't analog. If they were...
I'm certain there might be a reason besides money for not officially supporting mouse+keyboard, and all the gaming kiddies who flaunt their gamerpoint e-penii crying about that being unfair for controller players.
I probably will sell my Xbox if they keep moving games to the PC.

You can thank the americans and the Xbox and of course bill gates for the Xbox PC controller fixation.
You don't exactly hear about playing PC games with the PS3 controller do you?
Every sodding PC game comes out with an 'XBox controller' option :roll:

For the record: The console controls are very good, especialy targeting,accelerator,brake and steering. Because it's meant for a console
Want keyboard+mouse mouse ONLY on PC? Then sue bill and the US of A. It's american gamers demanding it in games and devs implimenting it- no demand = no Xbox controller support, simple. :blob:

Me, i can live with ALL formats -apart from gate's love machine :lol:

As for graphical improvement on PC? I don't think it will be anywhere near as improved as you think it will be.
It's just one of those games that suits the graphics portrayed.

San Andreas failed to deliver adequate control and maneuverability of the helicopter. This is the only gripe i have and i hope they truly fix it in GTA 4 PC version. I get miffed when i have to continue tapping forward on the keyboard while the helicopter nods like a nodding dog through the rear window of my car. I don't want to buy a controller i just want fluid control via keyboard is it really that difficult to do ?

I forgot to mention to all those Xbox and PS3 fans HAHAAHAHAHA you're gonna miss out on all those PC Mods HAHAAHAHAHHA ! Good things come to those who wait ;)
