Next-Gen Prince of Persia Goes Cel Shaded - briefly
(hx) 01:22 AM CEST - May,06 2008 - Post a comment
The latest issue of EDGE magazine has a world exclusive preview of the game, which is still called the new Prince of Persia game. The preview has revealed that this new Prince of Persia game will be powered by Anvil, the game engine used in Assassin's Creed. However, this new Prince of Persia game won't take the realistic graphics route and instead it will feature cel-shaded visuals similar to those seen in Street Fighter IV and Okami. But Ubisoft Montreal plans to make use of the Anvil engine capabilities and as a result gameplay won’t be confined to palaces and cities. The new Prince of Persia game will feature vast outdoors that feel part on a one unified world, which will be facing a thread called The Corruption, a 'jagged, icky eyesore, a demonic oil spill of pollution.' The article also revealed that the game will no longer feature those group battles seen in the Sands of Time trilogy. Instead, the player will be thrown into duel-type fights where the Prince fights one foe at a time.
