Both Blizzplanet and Diablo3.com have launched mysterious countdowns to an event occurring on May 1st.  It is important to note that neither site is owned or operated by Blizzard, but of course they do have some contacts there, so it seems reasonable to trust that this is somewhat significant. They're keeping things close to the vest for now, as the countdown is accompanied by this blurb: "The number of days until half the web links to Diablo3.com. But why???"  (thanks BluesNews)

Update (Apr22): The Diablo 3 Website clarifies a few things their recently unveiled countdown is not going to concern saying they are not counting down to a Diablo 3 announcement or even a Diablo novel-related announcement...I wonder if Blizzard contacted them and was like "Um, WTF are you doing? Stop getting people excited over nothing" :-)
