- Summer Athletics Announced - dtp entertainment AG and 49Games
today announced the
new sports
game Summer Athletics. Word is: "Players can expect an abundance of
disciplines from a variety of summer sports in this title. Summer Athletics
will appear summer 2008 as a multi-platform title. Summer Athletics brings
sports right into your living room: exciting competitions in more than 25 of
the most popular summer sports disciplines, such as sprinting, hurdles,
cycling, archery, javelin, hammer throw, and swimming, will provide
long-lasting fun."
- Penumbra Black Plague Ships (EU) - Paradox Interactive announces
that
Penumbra Black Plague is shipping to European stores.
- Frontlines: Fuel of War MP Demo Next Month - THQ announced that a
multiplayer demo for the PC version of
Frontlines: Fuel of
War will be released on March 11 and will be based on the final version
of the game and feature an all-new map "Invasion" in addition to the final
"Oilfield" map.
- Galactic Command - Echo Squad SE Next Month - 3000AD's
Derek Smart made a post on the developer's message board on the status
of their latest space combat game Galactic Command: Echo Squad SE. A free
preview of the game will be made available for download via IGN on Monday,
with a free demo to be made available everywhere the week of Feb. 25. The
full game will be made available for download on March 3.
- Dragonfly Licenses Unreal Engine 3 - They will be using the
Engine for a
yet unannouced project.
- World Of Warcraft Arena Tournament Announced -
The
tournaments will begin in April in regions all over the world. The
regional winners will go to the world finals to compete for a $75,000 grand
prize
- Overlord Xbox 360 Content Packs - The updates consists of
three downloadable packs - one is free and adds a new multiplayer map and
split-screen multiplayer modes. The Challenge Pack cost 400 Microsoft points
and adds seven new multiplayer maps along with a new Legendary single player
mode. Finally the Raising Hell expansion pack costs 800 Microsoft points and
adds a new single player campaign.
- Deadly Creatures Announced (Wii) -
Deadly Creatures is a 3rd person action thriller set amidst a desert
world of venomous terror, built exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.
- Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Announced -
The game will be released this June for the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii
consoles. To promote the new game, Activision will release a free song from
Aerosmith for Guitar Hero III, "Dream On". The song will be released and be
made available for free on Saturday-Monday for both the Xbox 360 and PS3
- Xbox 360 Facing US Shortages? - Microsoft claims that due to
higher than anticipated demand,
there are currently shortages of Xbox 360 consoles in the US. Jeff Bell,
the head of Microsoft's Xbox marketing, said that the shortages could affect
the January 2008 sales numbers (which are due to be released later today).
