The Witcher Demo - demo
(hx) 11:09 AM EST - Dec,14 2007 - Post a comment / read (3)
Atari has released a playable demo for The Witcher, allowing you to try out their role-playing game. Word is "the demo begins with the first part of the prologue in which the seeds of the epic story are sown and the white haired witcher Geralt learns the fundamentals of combat. The prologue is followed by the entirety of Act 1, during which Geralt of Rivia will see the first threads of the story weave their web around him and be called upon to slay man and beast to stay alive and earn his keep." The massive 1.97GB demo is mirrored on ,, FanGaming, FileFront, FilePlanet, GH.

Not realy, i've played and finished games then companies have decided to release a demo for them! Sometimes sales are so poor they do it to try and garner interest or boost sales.
If you were to buy demos with PC magazines, then it would be hilarious! Take PCZone for eg January issue; Exclusive demos of Crysis,UT2,CoD4,Timehsift,Hellgate and Painkiller Overdose.

Now i've played and finished the full game (in the case of Crysis) and played all those demos months ago!!

DVD PCmagazines are an absolute waste of time in this day-and-age. (for me -wish i had a choice) Sure there are some countries/people that don't have fast broadband, but if you own a gaming PC then your generaly up to speed in all dept concerning demos and info. Besides, here we have probably the BEST site out there for for info on all demos/full games and practicaly EVERY bloody-thing-else! I am of course talking about [u:5d6bcefdcf]Gameguru[/u:5d6bcefdcf] 8)

Well now for a comment about the actual demo...It's really good I thought, has an easy interface and the graphics are super hot. I like just walking through the meadow when it's raining. You also get quite a strong sense of the story when playing, especially at the beginning. So yeah, I thought it was a worthwhile download.
