Call of Duty 4 Demo - demo
(hx) 08:28 PM CEST - Oct,11 2007 - Post a comment / read (6)
Activision has relased a playable single-player PC demo (local mirror ~ 1.37GB) for The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, allowing you to try out Infinity Ward's upcoming military shooter sequel. A free Yahoo! Games account is required to access the download, which has not yet shown up on other sites.

Well, this is probably even worse than making it a Fileplanet exclusive, good job Activision/Infinity Ward, good job :-( It looks like someone totally underestimated the public's demand for the demo.

Update: The demo is now mirrored on 3DGamers, ActionTrip, FileFront, FilePlanet, FileShack, Fragland.net, FZ.se, OVH.net, Tat-Srv.de, Utwente.nl, Yahoo FTP2 and GH.

oops, sent a mail with a link for you that was posted on another site but it says its only 75 mb on the site so that cant be it but on clicking the download FF browser says its 152.8 MB?

I really dont know if its real or not, the filesize could be miss-read I suppose. :(

I will have to make a Yahoo gif that matches my Fileplanet one now.

Out of curiosity, which driver are you using at the moment, I am on the 163.71 beta set on Vista Ultimate 32-bit, I do get the driver stopped responding loop hell on occasion but not with this demo yet.

***EDIT***

Sorry, was not thinking, I was talking about CoD4 but just to make sure if thats the one you meant.

*END*EDIT*

I don't know but this is another anti-climax
Scripted beyond belief, insurgents that take umpteen shots to die and then respawn. What happened to good old gameplay??
The 'defend the tank' is a joke. It looks like half of Bahgdad coming at you from that building!!!
It's never moved on from COD1 and you always feel that you are *never* part of the big picture, plundering around by yourself with AI 'team mates' that don't give a monkeys about you or themselves.
H&D2 still owns this afaic and ArmA/OFP kicks butt for realistic fire-fights.
Ah well, money saved 8)
