The Socket AM2
AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ processor is pretty quick around the track. It
slots itself right behind the Athlon64 X2 5000+, exactly where we expect it.
It was a pretty good overclocker, hitting 3.03 GHz !
- Corsair 2GB PC2-10000C5DF Dominator Memory Kit tested -
Having the
ability to run CAS 3 at 853MHz, CAS 4 at 1135MHz and CAS 5 at 1314MHz
makes wide range of options for enthusiasts and just happen to be some of

- Intel Prepares For Phase Change Memory -
Intel is
preparing to sample a 90-nm 128-Mbit phase change memory to customers in

- Seagate 750GB Pushbutton Backup External Hard Drive -
Since the
Pushbutton Backup drive is using the same 750GB Barracuda 7200.10 hard

performance difference is due to the SATA-USB controller used. But the
1-year limited warranty is quite peculiar :-(
- Samsung Shipped Hybrid Hard Drive -
Samsung's MH80
series hybrid hard drive is offered in 80GB, 120GB and 160GB capacities.
- Samsung Q2 UMPC revealed -
The successor,
which is dubbed Q2, will apparently run Windows Vista Home Premium and
offer a number of hardware enhancements over the Q1.
- Blu-ray keeps its edge over HD DVD - The
sales of Blu-ray movies accounted for more than 60% of the
high-definition movie market between January 1st and February 18-the latest
date for which figures are available.
- Intel won't upgrade to Vista -
According to a
ZDNet blog, the Intel CEO confirmed his firm won't upgrade to Vista
until that first service pack is delivered.
- Nvidia releases DX10 game developer kit -
Included in the package, which is offered free of charge, is the SDK 10,
texture tools, the debugging software PerfKit 5, ShaderPerf2, the shader
authoring tool FX Composer 2 and a shader library.
- Google doesn't know how to spend all its cash -
At the end of
2006, Google had $11.2 billion in cash and marketable securities on its
balance sheet, up around 40 percent from the end of 2005 when it held $8.03
billion, according to company statements. Google's blockbuster $1.65 billion
purchase of YouTube last year was a stock transaction.
