Call of Duty 4 In The Works? - briefly

Amped IGO reports that the next Call of Duty shooter title is in the works at developer Infinity Ward, the creators of the best selling WWII shooter series. However, the story claims that Call of Duty 4 will be the first game in the series to deviate from the WWII storyline and be set in modern times:
According to our source, Call of Duty 4 will be developed by Infinity Ward, the developer behind the first and second installments. The three-way deal established between Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Activision states that Infinity Ward will develop all even numbered titles while Treyarch develops the odd numbered games, such as Call of Duty 3. Treyarch did develop Call of Duty 2: Big Red One as well, however.

As aforementioned, Call of Duty 4 is said to step away from the war torn locales of World War II, instead focusing on the battlefields of present day. It is unknown if it will take the same path as Electronic Arts’ Battlefield franchise, placing the spotlight on the Middle East.

The source compared Call of Duty 4’s technical achievements to other games saying that while most shooters have two or three critical points on the head, Call of Duty 4 has 16, saying that you can shoot the side of an opponent’s helmet to make it spin on their head, or knock the helmet clean off. Supposedly you will even be able to shoot an enemy’s ear off.

Although Call of Duty’s single player has always been a mainstay of the franchise, the multiplayer is certainly something to write home about. Our source has said that there have been multiplayer bouts with 54 players. PC gamers will be happy to know that they will be able to join the action once again, as Infinity Ward is supposed to be bringing Call of Duty 4 to the PC as well as consoles. Call of Duty 3 is only available on consoles and eventually the PSP.

Question: Does Call of Duty sell like ice in a desert?
Answer: Duh!

Thus, make for or five sequals till the market is saturated with WW2 shooters.

Well I got no more interest in COD. IW should just stay out of PC. Maybe console is better for them. They did $hit for the PC and COD2... You can barely even join a server anymore because they are all compromised by kids and aimbots and wallhacks. God, I tried connecting 3 times, all PB enabled servers and you'd have to be a complete retard to not notice these morons who are like aiming you up as they run down a alley or in a house, they are literally focused on you with their crosshair the whole time through walls.

I just had enough of wasting my time. It's bad enough HL2 is cheat infested, but to play a PB game like COD2... FFS, I got better things to do. UNINSTALLED and DON'T CARE.

I'd almost be interested in starting a Petition or even seeing if I can get support to sue Punkbuster for lying to the public that they block ANY cheats. PB is and was a crock of $hit and the fact that a developer would go to them for protection tells me exactly how they feel about cheating.

While on the topic of pukebuster...

I've met quite a few of the people behind PB on a few occassions. And a few of my friends are quite friendly with them, on a regular basis. Anyway, I was at the GXL lan party (www.thegxl.com), I was part of the hosting crew. (We did a 512 man lan in South Jersey). Anyway, I wanted to get into a game of Quake 3, and for quite a while up to that point (back 3 years ago almost), I just couldn't do it if PB was enabled. So after several failed attempts to fix the problem, one of my friend reminded me that those guys were sitting across the way at the lan. I laughed and pulled two of the 3 guys out of their chairs to help me.

Long story short, they couldn't help me either. I ended up figuring it out later on that night, I forget what I did to fix it. No thanks to them. Screw PB.
