Another week, another NPD chart detailing the best selling PC games in the USA for the week ending April 8:

1. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - 2K Games
2. World of Warcraft - Blizzard
3. The Sims 2 Open for Business - Electronic Arts
4. The Sims 2 - Electronic Arts
5. Star Wars: Empire at War - LucasArts
6. Age of Empires III - Microsoft
7. Battlefield 2 - Electronic Arts
8. The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II - Electronic Arts
9. Civilization IV - 2K Games
10. The Godfather - Electronic Arts

The NPDGroup has also issued the list of the top 20 best selling PC games for the month of March 2006. The latest expansion, The Sims 2: Open for Business, was the month's top seller, moving more than 230,000 units. That was significantly more than second-place finisher Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and far ahead of the other Sims game in the PC top 10, The Sims 2.

Console Game Sales Down 16 Percent In March: GameSpot reports that overall console game sales for March 2006 were $819 million, down 16 percent for the same period a year ago. During March, the top console title was Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts II, which sold over 614,000 copies in North America. Behind it was Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the Xbox 360, followed by Electronic Arts' Black for the PlayStation 2. Two other critically acclaimed Xbox 360 games, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fight Night Round 3, also cracked the top 10.
