Monolith Productions have released a playable demo (local US mirror ~ 455MB) for Condemned: Criminal Origins, allowing you to try out the PC version of last year's critically acclaimed Xbox 360 action game. The demo includes one level that starts off with the investigation of a gruesome murder and continues with chasing a suspect through a ravaged building. Another mirrors: 3DGamers, FileFront, FileNuts, FilePlanet, PTGamers, GH, SoftPedia, VGPro, WP.

Wow, it's just as cool as I hoped for. May be up for a purchase. The demo is all in widescreen while you're playing, not sure if that will change in a later level or if it's because of the XB360. Anyways still very cool and make sure your comp's got some decent horsepower or you may not enjoy it as much :)

I thought it was pretty good but not nearly as good as F.E.A.R. The graphics and atmosphere are great but I thought the combat was going to be better. What's up with not being able to jump or crouch?

Hearing it doesn't have Jump or crouch has just motivated me to try this out! Finally a game with challenge and skill requirements.

It's a must try. Very well optimized, better than F.E.A.R. It's realy challanging.

Neo_McKane> It's a must try. Very well optimized, better than F.E.A.R. It's realy challanging. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. This game seems alright but it's not going to sell half as many copies as F.E.A.R. The melee combat gets old quick and the crime scene parts are very unrealistic.

it must be switchable or not? :o
must check them out "these murdered manequins".
Im awaiting 90 % , coz monolith rocks...; pretty addict these Jupiters genX ,still some more powerfull engine and others engines [effected like on sedative or steroided pumped adolescent amongst unlimited killings machinas], except Tron2 [not so addict , but the release vary much things on me,monolith ROX:) 8) ]
