EGM
Magazine has the lowdown on
the newly
announced Rainbow Six Vegas. The game has been in development for nearly 2
years now, and after the poor quality of Lockdown, development was taken out of
Red Storm's hands and given to Ubisoft Montreal.
In the game you will play as one character, not Ding but he does mane a cameo. You will have 2 or 3 teammates who will have unique personalities, and the game will be presented using the "Half-Life" (their words) style of storytelling (using only the first-person perspective and no cutscenes). The game will also feature destructible environments, and players will have to perform tasks such as rappelling down the sides of buildings and choppers. There will be no pre-mission breifing this time around, players will issue commands "on-the-fly." The game will be presented in a much more cinematic fashion, your teammates will engage in conversations and even argue. The game is going to use a Ubisoft proprietary engine, and the game will feature a Halo-style health recovery system, that is, if you rest after a hit you wil recover health. Sounds like the R6 series is getting the makeover it so sorely deserves.
