  • Microsoft IE Remote Code Execution Exploit (0day) - Critical - Unfortunately for users of Internet Explorer 6 there is 0day Exploit Code readily available for would be hackers to create web pages. The problem could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The issue is due to a memory corruption error when instantiating the "Msdds.dll" (Microsoft Design Tools Diagram Surface) object as an ActiveX control, which could be exploited by an attacker to take complete control of an affected system via a specially crafted Web page.
  • Microsoft offers Zotob removal tool - The Zotob worm started spreading on Sunday. Since then, the worm, its variants, and other worms that take advantage of the same security flaw have hit Windows computers, especially those running Windows 2000. Systems at ABC, CNN and The New York Times were among those infected.  The cleaning program (download), released Wednesday, is an updated version of Microsoft's Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, said Debby Fry Wilson, a director at the company's Security Response Center.

  • Old-school video games move to the head of the class - Many of these Donkey Kong devotees will head to the eighth annual Classic Gaming Expo this weekend in San Francisco for a nostalgic kick and a reminder of friends made thanks to positive experiences while partying with Princess Peach. Last year, Atari rolled out its Flashback Classic Game Console, which came loaded with 20 sensations of the '80s for about $30. Flashback 2, which is due this month, will add 40 of the earliest hits, such as Pong, Asteroids and Centipede, plus unreleased games.
  • Gizmondo Announces Launch Game Line-Up - Gizmondo, still sticking with their September launch for North America, said today they will be launching a game a week in September.   • Broken Sword 4 announced - THQ Inc. and Revolution Software have announced that the fourth installment of the award-winning Broken Sword games is currently scheduled for release on Windows PC in summer 2006.
  • Codename Panzers 2 announced - German based 10tacle Studios sent over a press release announcing that they have signed a deal with Stormregion for Codename Panzers 2 (dont' be confused with Codename Panzers - Phase Two). The game should be released in 2008.
  • Elveon announced - 10tacle Studios has also announced Elveon, an upcoming action game. The game is due for the PC and next-generation consoles in summer 2007.
  • Wildlife Tycoon revealed - Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa is announced, an upcoming project from Pocketwatch Games that "Combines the best features of your favorite Puzzle and Tycoon games" and offers a "be the animal" mode.
  • DOWN IN FLAMES goes Gold - Battlefront.com and Dan Verssen Games just informed us that their air combat strategy game DOWN IN FLAMES just went gold. Pre-orders open immediately, and the game is expected to ship within 4-6 weeks. The price is $35 plus S&H.
