Not really much to report today. CGW has 102 games you can download for free ranging from full versions of abandonware to commerical and fan made addons for modern titles. Gunroar deserves a mention here, especially if you liked Warning Forever. // BTW: Anyone tried BloodRayne2 yet?

Here's some stuff:
  • EA publishes 25 sequels, 1 original work - New York Times is reporting that out of the 26 games that EA plans to release before the end of this year, 25 are sequels or continuations of previous franchises.
  • Diablo 3 trashed? - Kotaku has got an interesting update about Diablo 3. Rumor has it that the current work on Diablo 3 was canceled and that the game is going to be completely reworked.
  • Sony claims Playstation 3 Linux & Tiger capable - The company said: "The integrated Cell processor will be able to support a variety of operating systems (such as Linux or Apple's Tiger)."
  • Xbox 360 connector pics reveal inside story - There are just a few ports on this relatively small console. As you would expect, one of the key connectors is for a power cable. The yellow cable at the top is a normal 100 bit Ethernet cable that will let you connect your console to the wacky world of the Internet.
  • Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 preview - Neowin takes a look at just what we can expect from this surprise browser refresh.
  • Creative Announces Sound Blaster X-Fi - The Sound Blaster X-Fi cards feature true 24-bit/96KHz audio playback and recording and 118dB SNR DACs (Digital to Analog Converters). The X-Fi processor also allows for source conversion at 135dB SNR, meaning that audio converted from one sample to another will pick up no discernable noise and will remain crystal-clear.
  • File-swap TV comes into focus - For the last several months, Clarke's television and radio stations have been putting content online using a four-month-old peer-to-peer service called the Open Media Network, which gives public broadcasters an affordable way to distribute high-quality versions of their work on the Net.
  • Shuttle Discovery lands safely in California - Space shuttle Discovery and its seven astronauts returned to Earth safely on Tuesday, bringing a successful end to NASA's troubled return to human spaceflight 2 1/2 years after the destruction of sister ship Columbia.
  • Robotic Baseball-Catching Claw - Those crazy baseball loving Japanese are at it again. The Ishikawa-Namiki Komuro Laboratory has designed a claw device that can catch baseballs up to 186 mph (300km/h)
  • Meteor impacts: Life's jump starter? - The idea that meteor impacts could benefit or even create conditions suitable for the beginning of early life struck Canadian Space Agency geologist Gordon Osinski while he and colleagues were conducting a geological survey of the 24-kilometer (15-mile) diameter Haughton Crater. Along the rim of the crater they noticed what looked like fossilized hydrothermal pipes, a few meters in diameter.
  • A First Look at Ultimate Avengers movie - The movie is due (straight to DVD) in February of '06. According to the panel from Marvel and Lions Gate (the new MLG Studio) this is the first of many films to come. The idea is to make full length animated movies based directly from story arcs. The clip shown was one-minute of test footage that came straight out of the pages of The Ultimates first story arc as they're taking down the Hulk. The art was exact except for Captain America who looked like he usually does.
  • The Worst Rated Beers - check it out, FYI, I prefer Pilsner Urquel. This beer is very balanced, lightly hoppy (like a good Pilsner should be), mildly sweet, but with a crisp finish! If you like beer, check out this article :)
  • Celebrity real names - The real names of famous celebrities - their pseudonyms uncovered.
  • Battle for Gondor (flash game) - check it out!
