Well everyone, it's Sunday, which means rest and relaxation, at least for some of us. Not sure how much I'll get to play - this weekend has some amazing racing events on, so I'm sure I'll be stuck in front of the TV for a good 4-5 hours :)
Here's some stuff:
- Xbox 360 to have HD-DVD, Eventually - According to the
statements made by Bill Gates in Japan,
Xbox 360, the new gaming console will include HD-DVD drives. Considering
that such a decision would postpone the launching date, Microsoft will equip
the initial models with classic DVD drives, and only after the new HD-DVD are
ready, the Xbox will incorporate them.
- HD-DVD Players Will Officially Output HD on HDMI - High res signal
will officially flow through the easy to use HDMI cable while
the
analog outs will be downconverted to traditional, non-HD 480i. HD
recording enthusiasts will not be happy about the lack of 1080i and 720p
flowing freely from the back of their new HD disc players however another more
important people will be thrilled – Hollywood movie executives.
- A Hacker Games the Hotel -
A vulnerability in many hotel television infrared systems can allow
a hacker to obtain guests' names and their room numbers from the
billing system. It can also let someone read the e-mail of guests who use web
mail through the TV, putting business travelers at risk of corporate
espionage. And it can allow an intruder to add or delete charges on
a hotel guest's bill or watch pornographic films and other premium
content on their hotel TV without paying for it.
- Worm poses as pirated 'Grand Theft Auto' -
The worm, Hagbard.A, tries to disguise itself on peer-to-peer networks as
pirated downloads of the popular games titles "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,"
"Need for Speed Underground 2" and 400 other programs, Sophos said in an
advisory released on Friday.
