Battlefront.com and IDDK/Crazy House sent out a press release announcing that T72: Balkans on Fire! has now officially reached "Gold" status and is ready for release. The is expected to ship to customers in late June/early July. Pre-orders are also accepted immediately from www.battlefront.com. The game is available for $35 plus Shipping & Handling. It comes with a fully printed 70 page game manual with removable key reference card and 2 Game CDs.
Set in the violent period of Yugoslavian civil wars from 1991 to 1995, the player, as a fictional Russian volunteer tank commander, is put right into the turret of three of the best tanks the Russians ever built – the T-72B, the T-55A and the T-34/85.

The focus of the game is the control of the your own tank, but the ability to command a number of attached units (armor, vehicles and infantry up to platoon strength) is given through the use of a command and navigation map. Artificial Intelligence (AI) controlled tank crewmen can man any station and be ordered by the player via hotkey's, or you can take the seat as tank commander, gunner, or driver yourself at any time. Internal and external free motion camera views provide an exciting and dynamic overview of the battlefield.
According to publisher, a free playable demo will be released around the time of release in 4-6 weeks. They're also working on a multiplayer add-on which will include full online multiplayer support (the current release allows for single player and LAN only) for up to eight players as well as 20 completely new maps and at least one new playable tank. The add-on is expected to be ready for release at the end of the year.

The thing is that the real model of tank that was on Balkans battlefields was not T-72 but it's modification called M-84. It was made by Yugoslavian army i 80's. Modification involved new improved electronics, new engine, better armour and some other minor things. It was made in cooperation of all Yugoslav Republics. But the main involment had Croatia because in factory wich still exsits tank was completly put together. This M-84 version is still produced. It'a deadly weapon. This tank was in service i Iraqi national guard and he was the only weapon who could do some damage to M1A1/A2 versions. And the damage was done but only in Desert storm. It has 125mm gun,low siluette, firing gun during movement,3 crewmen etc. Thrust me all of this information are truth because I'm from Croatia. Last week I saw one of those beasts...
