New Maps Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil - mod&map
(hx) 08:47 PM EDT - Apr,18 2005 - Post a comment
Chip firm Via Technologies today released VIAVGA DM1 XP (download) and VIAVGA DM2 XP (download), two custom made multiplayer maps for Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, the second sequel to the first-person shooter from id Software. Created by mapper Josh 'b0rg' Holmes, both maps are modified versions of the existing custom-made Doom 3: Deathmatch maps, VIAVGA DM1 and VIAVGA DM2, launched last year.
I'm pleased to announce that after some lengthy playtesting, our new DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil custom deathmatch maps are now fit for public consumption. Ported and heavily modified from the original VIAVGA DM1 and DM2, both maps take advantage of the new weapons featured in the expansion pack, including the double barrel shotgun as well as the gravity based grabber gun (which isn't available in the official deathmatch maps). Various throwable items have also been added to the maps, such as trunks, barrels and explosive drums and gas tanks. Weapon, ammo and item placement has changed significantly, as has various lighting effects and textures. DM1 in particular has been tweaked for extra FPS and DM2 incorporates quite a bit more detail and ammo from the vanilla DOOM 3 version
