Eidos Interactive sends along word that it has started shipping LEGO Star Wars (demo), however, the game itself won't actually be available for sale until Saturday, April 2. (thanks Computer Game Magazine)

The reason for the delay from shipping until arriving in stores is that LucasFilm is enforcing a overall moratorium of all merchandise that is related to their forthcoming film Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of The Sith until April 2. Developed by Traveller's Tales, LEGO Star Wars features over 40 playable Star Wars characters as the player goes through the prequel trilogy with an art style that as the title implies has a Lego visual look. In addition to single player Lego Star Wars also has a two player co-op mode.
