THQ has released a playable demo (local US mirror ~ 210MB) for The Punisher, allowing you to try out this upcoming comic book based console (PS2/Xbox)/ PC action game from developer Volition. This single-player demo contains an introductory cutscene and one mission situated in a zoo. The Punisher is now slated for release in January 2005. Another mirrors: 3DGamers, FileRush, FileFront, WP.

Update: A small patch (local US mirror ~ 720kb) for the playable demo of The Punisher is now online, upgrading this sample of the upcoming hard-boiled third-person action game by Volition to version 1.10. This release, which is also available through the auto-updater, adds a mouse sensitivity slider, fixes a framerate stuttering problem, and applies other graphics tweaks.

The demo is very sexy I wouldn't mind picking up a retail boxed copy of this. But yeah the xbox/ps2 (only release) with a pc demo did confuse me but still a very sexy demo.

I thought this was just crap! The AI is as thick as planks and the game play is just plain bloody awful. I've had better fun gameplay with GTA 3 or crap like Postal2 -the same mindless shooting but at least it was fun! Anyone who gets their kicks out of that (The Punisher) are obviously pretty young and easily amused :lol: better to have left it as a console release only imo.

I guess I am easily amused when exposing my virgin eyes to something as brutish as Frank Castle. I grew up to the punisher saga and this game, even though it may not do the comics/movie justice, delivers an action packed adventure. AI in the demo may not be superb or half life 2 like (scripted) but it’s there. The controls are simple and the graphics are decent. And the game play is there. What more do you want? A chance to unzip and urinate at the burning corpse of some stray dog?

Come on… I know it’s your opinion but the demo is great and that’s my opinion.

I agree with Yessum. The AI isnt crap, they use obstacles to their advantage, the graphics are excellent, and the gameplay is excellent. This game is just great period.
