HomeLAN - What are the team's philosophies in making a successful game? Dragan Medencevic - A successful game? Well, the (relatively) easy way would be to create some GTA clone or some WW2 or Vietnam first-person shooter and to put on the box that it's the most f****ng realistic game ever and that it blows away about just every damn game that has been made and that will be made. Now, for the honest way... PROJECT: X wasn't created in order to compete with Electronic Arts' Christmas blockbusters. When we wrote the game design docs, we had in mind a game that would be fun to play and, that, actually, we have always wanted to play. The game has many, many (and I mean many) sources of inspiration: we used gameplay elements that we thought were under-used in other games, but we are also using gameplay elements that have been used hundreds of times in previous games. Basically, we create what we think is the best for us, but also for most gamers. Will it work? Will it sell well? We sure hope so! HomeLAN - What can you tell us at this stage about the first game that Stardev is working on? Dragan Medencevic - PROJECT: X (tentative title) is Stardev's first title. It's an ambitious first-person shooter set in a giant modern-looking city. The player will be totally free to visit the city. I'm afraid I can't reveal much more at the moment, but be sure it's not just a GTA clone in first-person view. It's much, much more than that.
