As promised, Activision has released a playable demo (local mirror ~ 472MB) for DOOM 3 (review), allowing you to try out this recent horror/sci-fi first-person shooter by id Software. This masive demo includes the intro movie and three levels: Demo_mars_city1, Demo_mars_city2 and Demo_Mc_underground. The 472MB can also be found on 3DGamers, FileRush, GameSpotDLX, GH, Ferrago, CGO.ro, FileShack, GameStar.hu, 3D Downloads, FileHolic, Guru3D.

If you can play the demo, than that is exactly how the game is... the first three stages to the last stage, minor differences here and there, very repetetive (first person shooter ..what do expect) and perdictable, if you like the demo than you will like the game...... sine I got mine brand new for 14.99 the game is good but if I had paid 40 plus dollars than its a fair game not good or great but O.K. My favorite thing is the BFG gun with the BATTLE READY V1.5 mod........ I just love it :twisted: . The sound is good but I have a True 7.1 setup and it only supports 5.1......... :roll: .

this game is so bloody over rated it's just criminal. it's a decent game but it doesn't warrant the scores you see everywhere. i'm gonna sell my copy because I got no further interest in playing it. i never even completed the game, was about 80% and just got sick and tired of repetition, dumb AI and complete unoriginality in play. One IMPORTANT thing they should say when anyone comments on how good the game is, ASK them their age. I been playing games since before Doom and all the other ones.. Remember the game Alley Cat? even before that. This game NEVER scared me once and I played it all the time with lights off and 5.1(though I have 6.1) and it did nothing for me. Even more funny is seeing this nice top seller list ggmania uses, while I found with other top sellers, Doom 3 is middle of the pack. anyhow.. if you haven't been playing games as long as me, maybe this game will do something for you, for me though it was a complete disappointment.

Doom 3 is like a porno; cheap thrills. Carmack is a ****er who wants to built a rocket to visit Mars so he can live his own doom fantasy.

i remember when i was 9 when i first played doom it scared the sh!t out of me! no joking. now its just not scary. Doom 3 is not scary keep that with you it just makes you jump the first time you first see a new monster. And that is my word. 8)

@ambazador, English is the international language of the world, learn it before you open your dumbass mouth. i bet you hid under your sheets with your dad playing doom3.

@fx5900, 100% agree. i do my part telling people the game sucks whenever i'm in a store and see people looking at it. lmfao. laugh even harder when i saw in pc gamer this past weekend with their quake4(uh looks like doom3) game coming out and he was going on and on about doom3 and how amazing it was. almost made me puke.. was sure i saw carmack in the background giving the editor some more coin to further sell his game..

Personaly what i think has happened to make doom3 rather poor is this.
When a games company start to make a game they have to guess how good system specs are and use the correct graphics engine to fit the computer power. Just how when they started to make hl2 they had to use an engine 3-4 years ahead of its time. I think ID have screweed this up.
This game should of come out 18 months ago and would of been great but now the engine is totally dated and hl2 wil be 2-3 years ahead of it.
Ive recently played the game painkiller on 1600x1200 and i think its 12-18 months ahead of doom3. Oh well we all make mistakes......
Im suprised so many people are impressed by the graphics cause im not.

^^^^^^^^^^ [-X OH MY GAWD Not impressive graphics? painkiller 18-12 months more better graphics :shock: Umm the graphics are good they are about these times u havn't been playing games recently have you.
