But an engine isn't any use without a game. Sweeney's studio, Epic Games, has a history of producing quality futuristic first-person shooters, but for his first Unreal Engine 3 game he's looking to do something a bit different. "We haven't announced our game yet, so I can't say a lot about it," he confided. "But it's a completely new idea, not a continuation of the Unreal franchise. It's definitely a new direction for us."

Will it be another first-person shooter? "It'll be an action game of some sort," he laughed.
