Far Cry single-player demo - demo

Ubi Soft has now officially released the promised single-player demo for Far Cry, the upcoming first-person shooter by Crytek Studios. The demo fetures an entire island in which your mission objective is to destroy a mercenary facility.  The massive 500MB demo can be downloaded from 3DGamers, WorthPlaying, FileFront, FileRush, GH, BoomTown, CGO.ro, Tiscali Games, 3DDownloads.

it didn't work for me 2hrs of excitement waiting. I was so dissapointed of ubisoft announcing a demo and it dosen't work!!

this games looks awesome..enemy AI is superb...physics are a bit lacking, but doesn't spoil the fun..great sound!

Yea this game is gonna be fun. I just hope its as good in multiplayer. Far Cry, Doom 3, and Tribes 3 are gonna be the games to get this year.

Ha, nice demo, runs ok on my Geforce MX 2, so go to hell Ion Storm with Deus Ex 2. Nice stealth options, reminded me of the good old Delta Force games. Enemies are nice too, not superb, when you are in a bush and they already saw you, you should expect them to shoot into the bush, not to go into it and get lost. didnt notice physics much either, probably cause there werent many objects that could take advantage of it. sound is indeed great, good music. Only thing i didnt like was the limitations on how many weapons you can carry.

well they react to sound, i noticed that when i was hiding close to an enemy group and switched firing mode, taht was cool, they also react on stone throwing, which is helpfull for stealth missions, i remembered when i got that silenced machine gun (which was also in delta force), wouldnt want to change that weapon for anything.

Alot of pepole are saying there download is nothing but a corrupted 500 Mb zip file, I guess throws jerk-of's that have host files like this on there servers keep zipping and re-zipping the shit out of it till it's so small it's corrupted and useless, I'll wate untill UBI soft has it on there server again before I download it. Ps, No miltiplayer sucks, I'm getting kind-a sick of playing with myself all the time!

peeps with the download problems, maybe try using a download manager like reget or the likes. if the file is bigger then your temporary internet files cache then it can be corrupted in transit.

multiplayer demo will come early march, and i got it with torrent and it worked just fine. i have to correct myself about the physics, there was one incident, that i realized later had to do with the physic. when you drive at the start with full speed just straight ahead with your boat, your boat will go over the island right under the wooden houses. at first i thought this was a bug, but now it makes sense, nice.

it's a good demo,althought i wouldnt say the AI is superb as mention, it is mechanical and very robotic, with the generic "you hear that" starting to annoy me, with standard conversations between NPC's, rock throwing is hilarious and corny, anyone noticed that the enemies once they spot you had wallhacks & aimbots? for instance, the boats with the RPG they had pinpoint accuracy, and the helicoper with the mini gun continued to fire at my exact position even thou i was in a corrider, i could see the bullets clip thru the walls aiming straight at me. I hope this is definately fixed, however the graphics are good, I thought we were far from the days of taking minutes to preload a stage, however as i noticed the entire map of the island was available to us, i could give that some leeway. the weapons good, good intergration of sniper weapon and holding your breathe, thou i cant understand why you're at maximum scope, hold your breath and you scope even closer? silenced MP5 fit the part, looking forward to how the final cut is like.

ha damn, now that i uninstalled the demo i realize after your post what the holding breath option was for, i thought it was for diving or something like that but noticed that it didnt work there, dooh.

I downloaded it and played it, I think it sucked jest as much as anyother game, same old boring stuff to do Opening doors and crawling through vents, walking down dark tunnels whoopee what’s so new about that, there’s no stealth whatsoever you can sneak up and kill anyone, the maps suck you can get lost easily, and spend you time trying to figure out were you are, rather than playing the game, you cant shoot through leaves/brush, you cant do anything interesting under water, and there is barely any blood and guts, it needs splinter cell stealth and SOF blood and guts and MOA game play, and some better graphics man wow the trees blow in the wind man I never seen that before come on now this game blows, maybe I’ll buy it next year when it at Wal-Mart for $19.95 with the rest of the shitty games.

-opening doors? yeah right, too bad that only 20% of the demo was in-door, and opening the doors was automatic. -crawling through vent? i guess i played a different demo -"no stealth..you can sneak up.."thats what i call stealth, dunno about you -"can get lost easily" haha yeah right, its hard to find the way to the top, really did you play the right demo? -"you cant shoot trough leaves..."true and not true, there are cases where you can shoot hidden in the bushes -"barely any blood and guts" grow up kid, if you want to jerk off on that stuff play SOF and say how great that boring game is -"better graphics" i guess your system sucks thats all -how about people people play the demo before they judge it the demo wastn revolutionary, but among the best there has been lately out

This game sucked, I'd-be checking my local wallmart for it soon next year, you know in the 9.95 section, with the games that don't even come with a box, I games on my Atari 800XL have better graphics than this 500 MB's of wasted Bandwidth bloody drip of swollen infected ball bag puss thay call a game.

i agree that 500mb for this ,makes it an ubercrap,grafx r decent but not extraordinary,game played laggy 1st time,fixed my settings 1028x768 32bit all to max on a 2400xp r9500pro@9700pro 512rams winxp pro and all the usual shit, it plays good,but hey stop compering it to HL:) the game itself(demo) is little boring..run,shoot,run get to the top..bla bla bla...open some stupid doors bla bla bla,hopefully the demo is just that,a demo,full better be much better so i can buy it on dc++...trolls r good i love trolls too. to make a short story even longer..last years E3 must have sucked if this game got so many runner up awards:)

This sucks :( The enemies and everything aren't textured, when i fire my weapon, some crazy tentacle thing reaches out of it, the boat in the beginning is just a black untextured box...wtf! Why is everything all untextured, I've got a Geforce FX 5200, fully updated...

it work perfect for me, and im glad. 'cos no i wont make the mistake of buying the game! its terible! ai?:when u shot at an ememy not to far of he just runs back and forth. physics?: u blow someone up with a grenade, and they just kind of float away and slide along the ground! poor poor poor. the only plus is the fact that the whole level loads up in one go, so the view distance is pretty sweet. not that theres much to see i might add. its all to pretty and smooth. needs to be a bit more gritty..

There are land vehicles in the demo. Follow the beach around past the huts, below the radar and you'll fond a Dune buggy thing. Very hard to handle... enjoy
