Kreed, the upcoming sci-fi first-person shooter in the works at Russian developer Burut, seems to be very promising FPS and potential competitor for just very hyped DOOM III, especially if we are talking about hardware requirements. Kreed utilizes very powerfull X-Tend engine and will require ONLY PIII 1GHz, 512 MB, Radeon 8500/GF3/GF4 for optimal perfomance (minimum is PIII 500Mhz/256MB RAM, GeForce2).

In Kreed, you will play the role of Legionnaire - one of the most trained and dangerous warriors of 3rd millennium. According to the storyline, hero with small team of trade ship "Aspero" find himself in strange region of cosmic space. Nobody can go out from this zone, a lot of spacecrafts disappeared in this point of space. Player immerse in atmosphere of absolute hopeless, connection with outer world is broken and all around is only cemetery of spaceships – both new models and very old, which are here for thousand years. The Main Hero of "KREED" must find the answers to a number of crucial questions that deal with his immediate relation with danger-filled reality, as well as take the risk of trying to understand his own self. Kreed is slated for release in thired quarter 2003.

Hey, don't want it to come across as a negative stereotype, but Russians always seem to do better or equal with less. Seems nice and will have to check out the movie. btw, anyone see that 'non-shaky' 2 minute long Doom 3 vid? WOW! is an understatement.
