Played the first two levels of the Cybran (Go symbiots and big-arse spider bots!) and the finished game is awesomely more stable, finished(TM) and performance wise better then the beta. I love it. :3

Now what I need is a mod for tier 1 plasma batteries - the memories of Total Annihilation still is strong in my mind. Smile

It will run, not as pleasently as you may want - but it will run. I got most of my stuff, except for shadows on high. Considering I got only a 7800GT card, it runs damn fine. Smile

Demo ran quite good for me, 4600+, 2GB & 7600. I think I turned shadows and AA off only. Everything else was top setting as far as I could tell. I'm iffy on this game. Certainly don't find it more entertaining than TA as a matter of fact, not even close to TA. I don't like the Mass and Energy building that is constantly a pain in the arse and I find the landscapes bland an boring. The interface, despite the BS I read in magazines about it sucks and is confusing as hell and a lot of common features, as some suggested, are not even in SC. Right now I am so into Company of Heroes, so much fun on a LAN that SC is something I'll get for a past time if anything. I think SC is gonna be another one of those games with an inflated review and in the end will only appeal to some RTS fans. After all, lets bow down to Chris Taylor.. he made it so we are all unworthy to criticize anything he does... Rolling Eyes TA to me, based on the demo is a 7/10. I think C&C will be much more fun to play, easier and more attractive on nearly every level. But also all am matter of taste I guess.

Amen to that XXXX! CoH is amazing! I've had it since it came out, but couldn't get a lan going on it, so I haven't played till about 2 weeks ago when I found out they were up to 1.4 and the networking finally works. Smile

Nah Chris Taylor has done okay, some misstakes like any other person around, but overall done okay.
SC in it self I think isn't meant to be some "for the masses, simple click and point "RTS"", but rather some sort of brainchild from the old TA team which I think sounds great - and now in the end, plays well. Larger, more advanced and a bit more complicated in the long run - but like drugs for many RTS addicts.

Comparing CC with SC I think doesn't work since they handle strategy on two diffrent levels. The brilliance of CC belongs to it's simplicity while TA and it's spiritual successor belongs to category: intricacy.

How well, my view anyway. ^^ I'm gonna play both of them though. Mmm... tiberium....

Honestly, what strategy is there in SC? You spend your whole time wasting away in your base turning off things and managing power. I don't find that personally fun or exciting but actually annoying as hell.
