I've noticed over at

Gamespot that

they have posted a preview ( in the form of an article and 7 minutes long streaming video) of Conter Strike: Source, the Half-Life 2 engine port of the gaming classic. Here is an excerpt: systems.

i bet all the noobs too lame to upgrade their GeForce2 systems and the so called "hardcore gamers" that only know how to play CS continue to play at 800x600 with no details.

CS is sooooooooooo lame. Why would valve want to make a sequel to continue the lameness?

moooooooooooney!!!!! I love the last quote just before the footage ends "cz owners will get to test it next because they are active buyers and they are recent buyers and they will give us great feedback" Razz It's all about the money. Want to test cs:s? Go buy cs:cz. Want to be valve's bitch? Go buy half life 2! HL2's only good thing is single player because you have all these sweet features but multiplayer? No death match, no nothing just plain old counter strike? Heh they bought it of some kids, ruined it and now they are making lots and lots of money for a project/mod they didn't do. Haha valve sucks, hl2 will suck (Until future mods come) and cs sucks. It sucked before, it sucks now. GO DOOM 3. YAY!

haha, stop moaning like an old woman.
If CS was lame it would of lost interest in the gaming publics eye already, just because you don't personally like it doesn't mean you have to crap your pants verbally.
Doom 3 however, I am indeed looking forward to that Wink

ya I guess if you were in diapers or grade school when Doom came out Doom 3 should be right up your alley. For those of us who been playing computer games since the start, the excitement is not as high. I just wish I still had that old article where Carmack stated, Doom 2 is the last as there are bigger and better things to do. I have no plans to continue the Doom saga. Well guess money talks and BS walks. Maybe Carmack needed the money to fund his spaceship? Nah.. this game will do well, in warez. I'm waiting for HL2 and that game you call crap, CS 2. 4 player MP! wooooo, crack open the champagne, now we can have a little romantic 4 person game... pfff. And I'm wagering a bet that everyone who trashes CS just is a little sucky baby that couldn't handle being owned and probably complained everyone was cheating. But in the sad but honest truth, maybe you just suck.

Counter-Strike is by far the easiest game to pick up and the hardest game to put down. Not because it’s good because it’s not. It’s because it is in fact addictive. The game sucks in my opinion, my own. And that opinion does not come from someone who was owned/raped in a session of counter strike. The game is filed with kids, mostly people who JUST started playing it. Not the years ago when it came out. Those people, if they still play it, need to re-evaluate their priorities in life. Counter-strike, may it be the best game ever is still a putrid P.O.S. And just because a childless homophobe living in his mother’s basement bashes your favourite game doesn’t mean he sucks at it. Now does it? The game sucks, it isn’t fun. And the only thing people got out of it is stress not pleasure. And if your idea of purified cocaine is yelling through a microphone or typing the phrase “F**K YOU, YOU F**KING CHEATER” in a little chat menu then I’m pretty sure a any game that’s NOT aimed at fourteen year old kids will not satisfy your thirst for shooting and yelling at inanimate objects that contain outdated graphics.

YAY!

@Waldo
ya, then you join a clan or play on a private server, all of which are very easy in CS. the same thing you speak of here, happens in any voice able game noodle loaf. suprise for you, i play with a bunch of people that age from 24-40 years old. Wink one last thing, graphics don't make a game for you though, i guess that's different. best quote "CS is not a good game but it's addictive", keep smoking the cannabis Waldo.. Rolling Eyes

xxxx I know what you're saying, and for the record, I'm a long time gamer since the start of the c64 and also the amiga, so I've had my fair share of experiences.
Doom 3 I know wont last that long with me, and I am getting a bit fed up of all these titles being milked with sequals, not enough imagination and creativity put into games anymore. Though in-terms of excitement factor it's all really subjective on the type of material you're after.
I'm looking forward mainly to S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Silent Hill 4(on the ps2) nothing else really excites me too much.
Ah well, I'm looking forward to seeing what fun can be had out of the Doom 3 multiplayer experience.
CS: Source looks good to me, I dont expect to get jaw-dropped by gfx anymore as I did when I first got my PC back in 97/98 (a bit late I know, but I was playing with my bro's PowerPC Amiga Razz), but I tend not to let myself get shelved with a game to the point of no return.
People complaining about n00bs and nutters spoiling CS, thats why it is far better to get a small group of online friends that you know are good, and play private matches with them. games last a bit longer that way.

for team based games I prefer indulging myself with U2XMP, but even now I'm tiring with that, until the UT2004 mod version of it comes along hopefully adding something new to it.

it's just my opinion...but devilhood, i know what u mean. gfx alone don't make a game, physics now are playing a bigger part. ut2k4, couldn't agree enough with u. its unfortunate that such a great engine has nobody making a very cool and original mod but i'm waiting with my 6disc collection Rolling Eyes i'm just hoping its a hell of a lot better than Farcry(shift to sprint like the Bionic Man, pfff), though i'm sure they will. STALKER, yes.. yess cant wait Twisted Evil
