AMD Socket AM2 3800+ X2 CPU reviewed - On one hand, the X2 3800+ looks to offer the same type of performance you'd expect from its predecessor, the s939 X2 3800+ it replaces, including the same 2GHz core speed and 512KB x2 L2 cache. However, the AM2 line of processors also introduces AMD

AMD and ATI...well gee wiz seems that article a little while ago was right.
Ya nothing wrong with this picture AMD to acquire ATI. No unfair leverage there eh...? I wont be shocked if this merger is official but I don't see this at all being anything positive for gamers. I also see this as a huge disadvantage to Intel.
At least ATI support has a chance to improve. Hopefully AMD fires most of the execs in ATI when they take over. |

That's Viva la nVidia... lol
But yeah, if they fire the lead manager of support and kill those BS beta testers they claim to have, ATI has a chance. Can't wait to have an ATI flag burning day!!!! Or maybe a Flag+Box burning day!!! Yeah!!! |

| I'd have to say the biggest thing that kills ATI for me is the fact that it seems like whenever a great new game comes out, you have to get the latest drivers for your ati card for it to even work. lol So, why even buy the game the day it comes out, when you know you got to wait another day to a week before you cna play it. rofl |

I left ATI because I was tired of using a card that was just trying to be compatible with nVidia. Why bother? It's a hassle, you find a bug report it and never see a fix. You get denial on their community sites, flames etc. Since owning this 7600 I haven't even touched a support forum. As a matter of fact I can't even remember my username passwords. I hate going to support sites and that's why I love nVidia. It just works and their statement 'TWIMTBP' is no word of a lie. nVidia logo on games is just that, it was made with nVidia in mind. ATI however on the box, is just marketing. That's my opinion and that comes from 4+ years of living the life on ATI.
ATI isn't gonna get bought out for nothing, it's because they are and have been sliding for sometime. It bothers my though that AMD is ALLOWED to take up ATI. That is not right and it gives AMD a lot more influence on part buyers and is extremely unfair to Intel. Intel who has had to reveal their tech secrets to satisfy the always complaining AMD. Now I am curious, will AMD belly ache about Intel.. I sure F'ing hope not. |
