I think that the deep recession that will surely come soon will be a very healing process on the one hand. People will stop eating this shit and bullshit about metaverse and will have to start working normally again like before!

Put it this way, we’ve got a generation of ’brain drains’. People who can’t fix anything or wire a plug. They don’t even own anything. From cars to phones, they are all on contracts and lease’s. They can’t repair clothes, do the basics on cars or decorate their building society/ bank owned homes! Without paying for a contractor to do it. Hell, they can’t even COOK! Everything is bloody Uber eats and Just Eat round us daily….

Give you an idea. Our LG direct drive washing machine leaked from the drum bearing after 9 years. I replaced the bearing, spider and new drum seal for price of fitting. We got rid of it after another 5 years because we could afford a newer AAA rated model. I’ve fixed our electric shower - new solenoid. Dishwasher - new Impeller. They’ve all functioned like new. The Bosch dishwasher is now coming up for 19 years old.
The thing is, we know how to live on a tight budget and we know how to keep things going and to bake bread and freeze it or even milk.
Our bought VW Polo is just coming up to 13 years old. The only thing done that I couldn’t, was fit a new exhaust- it’s first.

This is what’s driving landfills and waste. Our generation repaired everything. There was even TV repair shops! It’s the most wasteful generation to have been born on this planet. They go on about how “we made the planet what it is today”. Utter bull. We recycled glass milk bottles, got money for taking juice/soda bottles back to the shops, mothers washed diapers/nappies, dads worked on their cars every weekend supporting car part shops. We had ONE car per family - if your lucky! Clothes handed down from brothers/sisters and other families.
They bin mobiles by the absolute ton. - digging rare precious metals out the earth for what? To upgrade every 6 months. We didn’t need them. Had a phone in the house or plenty call boxes on the street, had watches, met friends perfectly on time.
He population has doubled since I was born.
Something has got to give, eh?
