Plaza release is 50GB (full game).
Steam users are saying the game would be good, except the performance issues render it to be a piece of crap (you can't dodge effectively that's just plain bad). Interestingly, it seems to be the 30xx users that complain the most.

Are you sure of that? Where can I see that information?
I'm no fan of the series, but would like to know if it's everyone is saying or it's a fact.

Reviews that their marketing promotes are defo bought, but you can get a good indication of what a game is like based on user reviews on Steam, metacritic or trusted reviewers like ACG on youtube. If you know where to search for, you'll get a pretty accurate picture.

I've played about 15 hrs so far, and I already think this is FROM's best game, tied with Bloodborne. I am confused by the negative Steam complaints though, since they appear to be from people crying about the game not running well on their machine.

My boy can play it 1080p with no stutter on an ancient modded Dell Optiplex / GTX 1050 Ti / installed on an SSD. Is there really a significant majority of people on Steam trying to play Elden Ring on a sub $350 system? Laughing Jokes aside, there must be specific hardware combinations that lead to these issues... I just haven't encountered them yet on my computers here.

As Csimbi said, it seems to be mostly related to RTX 30XX users. My RTX 2080 Super is coping just fine.

The only issue I've noticed so far on my desktop computer is the occasional connection drop-out during multiplayer sessions. My guess is the server infrastructure was simply not prepared to take on such a huge influx of players.

Fuck the critics anyways, especially when something is hyped beyond belief. Steam reviews are too easily subject to brain dead bombing too, so I tend to watch gameplay vids of the first half hour of a game to get a "general" feel.

IMO the least stressful way is to pirate first so you can try-before-buy, unless DRM is a cockblock, but to each their own... I pre-ordered ELDEN RING, and I do not regret it.

If you know what you are buying, then sure, there is nothing to think about. I love souls games, also Nioh and Sekiro, so this is definitely a must beat for me too. I don't even have to look up reviews for that. The technical side will get polished within the next weeks or months, that is not an obstacle, unlike with BF2042, where the game design is just fundamentally wrong ...
