Yep, still no point buying a new card.
Maybe the 5050GRRRTX will bring some improvements worth the coin.

I'd get the used 1070 for <200 all day...
edit: I had 1070 2 years ago. Sold it within a week, too weak for me @1080p and ffs it was weak for path of exile and games as such. Weak in a sense that it provided 0 benefits over the 1060 6gb that it replaced.
