CD Projekt RED announced in its financial report that Cyberpunk 2077 has entered its final stretch of development. The game will come out on September 17th, 2020, and this development/status update more or less confirms that the game will meet that release date deadline.

I thought it required more testing and fine tuning only. Some polish. Sounds more like the game was never finished to begin with. Their previous release dates were nothing but lies and a cheap PR stunt. I sure hope the end product is good. Console crap borefest Witcher crap didnt do it for me.

Software development is a lot slower when working from home(at least the project i'm a developer on, is). So i can see how thats been impacting them too. I don't consider CDPR a bs publisher, so it's probably not lies.

Thing is, they said they are done, they pulled it back to polish it - not to develop it.
At least, that's my recollection.
