Needless to say many fans of
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl got irritated by the
latest press release by THQ, announcing "record net sales and net income for fiscal 2005". Surprisingly, there was no mention of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when ing on March 31st 2006, were addressed, thus

| Never thought I would say this, but, who cares? I'm dying to see how this game does when it comes out in terms of popularity cuz I think they killed it with their delays. Whoever the project lead is should be shot. |

I don't see anything regarding a delay in this news post. Nope, nothing at all. All that Headhunter from Oblivion-Lost.com was told with this email was that THQ don't currently have a date, and the reason that STALKER was not listed in their Quarterly Financial Report was because they have already referred to it in the past.
What should be taken from this is that we will receive more concrete information from the "public demonstration" this Summer (aka, E3 Game Show). |

Chode maybe you should wake up?
It's been delayed what people? 3 times so far? And since then it's been crap shots all the time. By the time it does come out the graphics will be nothing we haven't seen already. Had it been released when they originally said it would be released, or perhaps on the second coming when they said it was gonna be released.
I'd have been happy but 2006? Please gimme a break.
BF2 is gonna be out, Quake 4, HL2 is out, UT2k4 and something more coming soon. STALKER? who cares. I'll get it on warez just like I got the Alpha version. |

Once again, I reiterate that there is nothing at all to suggest a 2006 release. Currently odds are strong for a December release, actually.
If you think the graphics are nothing, perhaps you should more closely follow the news of this game. Screenshots showing the DirectX9 engine are starting to appear, and we will see a DirectX9 engine trailer at E3. If you can't remember last E3, the small E3 trailer there put all current games technology (including the innovative Cry-Engine) to shame. |

Guess we will have to see Chode. I'm not holding my breath or following it any closer these days. I am waiting to see if BF2 holds up to the pics that have been released and whether MP is a joke like BF1942 was 6 patches ago. I'm tired of buying a game, it doesn't look the same as whats been circulated in the media and then finding out MP is the worst for netcode. Despite anything to the contrary all BF2 really is is an updated graphic rendering engine, just like Quake 4 will be.
Remember that Car game, SCAR, perfect example of false pictures of the game. What? were those Xbox shots or PC? anyhow.. |

If it's delayed again that'll be no surprise.
In an industry of tired clones, STALKER is ambitious--much more so than games like the on-rails Half-Life 2 and corridor-bound Doom 3. Linear design is a lot easier than creating an open-ended GTA-style with RPG elements.
Give them time. It's rocket science, you know. |
