I watched the livestream...
dissapointing in terms of what I was expecting....
it seems epic are really just about the game engine, which is fine afterall nothing since uk2k4 and ut99 has been good for the pc, I don't think they want to even develop a full blown title anymore.
Still I really think they should have held off this announcement until they had at least some basic start on the game itself, not just a fancy engine that is capable of it. I know the unreal engine is pretty good, but unless they do the ground work on setting the theme for the new game it will just be a big mess.
Also if they are wanting people to help with the game, then why is it that the only way to even get the unreal editor is to sign up, and then pay 20$
I have no calms paying for a game that comes with a full blown editor, and if I make anything to sell the pay fees etc, but to start a project like this off with motive of getting people to come join them in making the game and paying 20$ just for the editor (per month to get updates) nah count me out. |

Meh. It's just a slightly different method of charging for DLC.
