Last month, EA gave away free copies of Dead Space on Origin. Today, they've made Battlefield 1942 free. Like before, there's no catch. Simply add the game to your cart and checkout, and it'll be added to your digital library forever. According to the original announcement, the publisher plans on releasing full games,

Battlefield 1942 was one of the best online shooters ever made, right up there with Tribes (the original, not that sequel garbage).
This "available F R E E ! ! ! ! for a LIMITED TIME" crap, however, is typical EA shenanigans. I'll pass and keep my good memories of BF42 intact.

Me included.
The only good think about Origin is that it's easy to crack. Same thing as SafeDisk/SecuROM and the like: legitimate users are forced into downloading and playing with malware-infested crackware. |
