This video shows off a project in its early pre-alpha stages. Since this is pre-alpha footage, you will definitely notice a lot of issues - like the absence of shadows, placeholder textures, unfinished animations, etc.

If there's so much stuff missing, why show it? Apart from the specular stuff, it doesn't look particularly amazing..

Right question. To me they only want to show "We live, yet!", not more. Heard nothing of unreal-engine quite a while. But what they are showing here is only a big level zero compared to current existing engines (imho). Poor developers, for what are they working? Yesterday, it seems. Sorry for that.
