The Xbox One's lack of backward compatibility doesn't just result from hardware differences with the Xbox 360 - it's because Microsoft doesn't believe many players would use it, said Don Mattrick in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. uot;If you're backwards compatible, you're really backwards, uot; said Matt

Absolute bollocks!
That's why we have compatibility mode with windows, so we can play older titles. That's why ps3 gets older titles remade from ps2. It's just another way of plying you with $hit and you fall for it and they force you to buy remade titles for the new Xbox -once you've flogged your old Xbox.
They could easily have made backwards compatibility mode. But they want to cream the bucks out of you. It's great how M$ just believe that "many players wouldn't use it". Speak for yourself M$, NOT for every Xbox gamer ( not that I will ever be one of them) just typically arrogant of such a controlling company. |

This message is like a insult for those spend $xxx to buy original games.
This is one of the reasons because I'll NEVER buy an original game... |

Yes they do Hx, but legions of 'fans' continually buy into the (M$) hype by just looking at a few shiny videos and absolutely very little research. It makes my mind bogle? Which actually makes me think that the majority of Xbox buyers/owners are on par with the console owning mentality of, say... the Wii. It looks fun, you can wave your arms (kinect) and interact with your voice -talk to your TV and games etc.
But come on, we had voice commands with headsets that could transpose words into actions on PC from Win98 days(i did) then we had Trackir for flight sims -predominately, even though it was a disability aid. Sure the PS3 has the Eye, but nothing compares to the fever pitch selling/sales of the Kinect. The age group of Xbox owners must be pretty low in comparison to the PS3. I know from when the PS3 was first released, it was adopted by men in the 40's (there is articles out there somewhere going back)as a very good home entertainment cinema system-along with letting their kids have the odd play in between! Also the biggest selling games on Xbox tend to always be FPS-again points to a younger base (especially the junk that is a FPS today...) Then your tied into the XBox live account and all the little extra add-ons. Add it up over a year and that 'cheaper than PS3' isn't... but it's too late, and embarrassing, to admit you were duped. Reminds you of the mobile phone contracts, £37 a month over 24months to own the latest and greatest.... by the time you add it up you've paid for one and a half times the cash price of the phone, and it's out of date!
Really, what happened to buying quality over quantity? Seems to be, buy for a quick fix, even if it is garbage, and of course this gets counted as a sale. Then of course you have the cut-your-nose-off-to-spite-your-face types that wouldn't buy anything other than M$, even if it was 10x more powerful and better quality.
of course this console will sell in the Apple I4s figures, but that typifies the true gamer of today and no way the quality of the product. Example; an App on the Istore could outsell any console/pc game but it doesn't make it a better game than on those platforms. Devs are just jumping on the bandwagon for the 'live for today, sod tomorrow' quick buck. The Xbox has always garnered that 'audience'.
No wonder gaming is a mess on all platforms though, and in decline.
Biggest thing to look forward to? GTA5. The only franchise that is the best and grown with the times. Everything just sits on the past. Then M$ come along and buy exclusive rights to GTA5 and -falsely- push sales for the Xbox (AGAIN) They don't give a $hit about gaming, just about money.
When was the last time the PC got an exclusive over the Xbox? |

I do think it's hilarious seeing that quote from MS.
I'm surprised more people especially Europeans aren't pointing out the fact that the Xbox is pointless for awhile due to lack of region support. Many of those touted features about TV and sports don't apply to Europe and it's up in the air what all could be offered over there. I think Germany still doesn't get HBOGO or Netflix which is kind of a big deal imo. |
