Crytek has released a new tech trailer for CryEngine 3. According to the company, this tech trailer is from real-time in-game footages of Crysis 3. Finally, a game with full blown tessellation, and other DX11 features. It good to see games finally taking full advantage on DX11.

The snails pace adoption of any dx11 support (which we've had ample time) seems to be a good stopping point imo. OpenGL for PC games please! I'd like to see this happen sooner rather than later. It's a logical step and makes windows and MS as a whole less relied upon. Consoles shouldn't have a problem with this either.

My biggest reason for not using linux or an alternative to MS (I have multiple PC's with gtx 460's and equivs for the kiddos) has been solely the gaming space. Steam and certain games that require activeX have been a huge headache. The kids also play some korean grinder games that use nguard and run like ass no matter what you do.

If gaming in general was mostly opengl that would go a long way towards not relying on wine and windows in general imo.
