It's not the eating that's the problem. It's the fact the blood pools in the lower body and blood pressure drops. As soon as someone in his state of two days inactivity stands up, the blood pressure rockets up! The result is blood clots and stroke. Think DVT on long haul flights and why you are given surgical stockings in hospital when lying in bed inactive? These help stop clots forming in the lower legs.
He would have been perfectly fine if he had just got up and moved every couple of hours.
Silly guy needed to get a life, not lose it!

It's funny how the only Darwinisms (people dying from their own stupidity and therefore thankfully removing themselves from the gene pool) I hear about from Asia are idiots like this playing some crappy game until they drop dead.

Or, maybe he just died of boredom.

Would everyone feel better if he died while not playing a video game?

Also, where did this story come from, The Inquirer?

Your Inquirer comment sounds like you think it's BS. It happens about once or twice a year in SE Asia (at least that's the number of stories that get mentioned on western gaming/news sites). Some guy plays x video game for 2-3 days straight in an internet cafe and then drops dead.

As for feeling better if he died not playing a video game? If he died doing some other completely avoidable stupid ass thing then I'd still think he was a moron.

If he just died died, he would have never made headlines. Only a loser plays a game for that many hours straight. All that comes to mind when I read this story.

He should have had someone around with 'Resurrection'.

BTW, one does not die of hunger after 24hours.

I am guessing the very idea of this was setting some sort of record - and he failed. Not the first idiot. Nominate him for Darwin award.

My point is, people die. Maybe it was a coincidence that he died while playing a video game. He may have still died if he wasn't playing a video game. I would like to see what the autopsy has to say. If the autopsy says he would have died no matter what, that won't be news and we will never hear about it.

I'd need to feel bad for him in the first place to be able to feel better.

Suicide level: Asian.
