The chaps over at PC Games Hardware have conducted an interview
with David Coulombe of Ubisoft Montreal as he talks about Assassin\'s
Creed Brotherhood. The topics include DirectX 9 (yes, the game still
only supports DirectX 9), scalable settings (multi-core, higher frame
rate, higher resolution,
MSAA, higher shad

Whaaaat!? AC2 on PC looks like crap. Drawing detail of distantce, shadows and lighting is exactly the same as the console version. The quality of the texture are totally lame. We take "some" benefits of the PC with more punch on the filters department (AA&AF) but other than that is the same thing. I actually think that AC1 looks better than AC2 on PC.

Well it's like the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder".
Gameplay over massive hype any day! I've played nearly 90hrs of Dragon Age -loved every minute of it. Played well over 200hrs of oblivion,Morrowind on PC. Sure loved the graphics, but it didn't change the gameplay.
Don't agree with your opinion of how AC2 looks -especialy on a 46" plasma. Besides the gameplay is excellent. On the other hand, AC1 looks a LOT poorer than AC2 on console Laughing
Clearly depends on how/what you view it on and what is your goal?
Draw distance doesn't have any bearing on the gameplay, it's not like a flight sim of military shooter -OFP for eg. He only uses a pistol and throwing knives and it's primarily stealth orientated.

I didn't complain about the gameplay, wich was excelent. As good as the first delivery or even better. Also the game was great. But is horrible to see blocky shadows very close to the soft/HD shadows when you know your system can handle a lot more than that. And the textures are a major disaster.

Even so, AC2 PC looks waaaay better than the console counterpart but also looks exactly the same as AC1 on PC. But AC1 looks worst on console than AC2 and AC1 looks a lot worse on console than PC.

I dont know if what I said it's clear or not. English is not my native language.

Above all of that, I prefer gameplay and game content over technical jewelry always. I'm playing DC Universe online on the PS3 (720p, no AA, no AF) and the game looks very, very, very, very, very bad, but I love the content and the gameplay, so, it's a funny and addictive piece of shit.

My comment was because I tired of the devs saying that they do great things in the technical side of things and then they deliver the same as always.

PS: I have a 46" Bravia Edge LED. 1920x1080 is the same shit in my Dell 27". It's always the same, never understand that people that keep saying "it looks great in my 3243265893465" ultra massive display". Actually I'm able to see defects or so more accurately in the 27" monitor than in the 46" TV. I never gonna said "It looks impressive in my 1x3 Dell 27" NV Surround config". It's pretty obvious that is way better than 1920x1080.

Renton,
What i mean by a 46" Plasma/LCD is you don't have to sit 2FEET from the set to view it, like a PC monitor/small screen.
In other words, because i'm viewing AC2 or whatever, from 15ft away, i don't need x8AA or x24AF, or whatever your graphic card chucks out to take away noticeable jaggies etc,etc that you would see from 2FEET!
When you are that distance away it means jack shit Laughing
Yes, viewing from a couple of feet is a game killer on a PC monitor -if the code isn't up to much, but i prefer being immersed in a panoramic display (15ft away) anytime over the years i spent sitting with my face buried in a monitor. Don't get me wrong, games like RTS suit a monitor at times over a 46" display, but not always.

And gaming through a Panasonic 1000W RMS 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio Essential, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS system, whilst viewing on the said 46", is positively HEAVEN Cool

I get you there. Also from the sound part. I have my PC, HT and my TV working as a team also, so I go to my couch, grab the F710 gamepad and dont even need a KB or air mouse. That gamepad is a PC gamer dream.
