Chris Priestly just made a post regarding the DRM used in Dragon Age 2. No disc check, you\'ll need an EA (same as the Bioware) account.
Recently there has been some concern over the DRM (Digital Rights
Management) included with Dragon Age 2. Hopefully this post will help
clarify what the DRM is for all versions

good thing i have mine pre-purchased via steam.
Certain DRMs i can live with, online activations and all that, but i do not like limited activations, i personally should be able to activate it as many times as i want without contacting them to play a game i bought.
I understand this is to combat piracy, which will likely crack this DRM within a week of release though. lol |

| Seems fair to me, its not as draconian as the Ubisoft DRM and personally I am almost always connected to the internet and have no download limits so it's not a concern of mine. Also I won't be buying this game because I tried the first and just couldn't get into it. |
