deus-ex was created (2000) before splinter cell, although, not before Rainbow Six (1998).
I am more interested in a story and RPG elements rather then how the game looks. Deus-Ex protagonists are always heavily modified bionics, so swords in elbows is nothing strange in Deus-Ex universe...I am almost certain that they are not the best weapon choice either.
As for strangeness, I always found how Solid Snake pulls out an RC controlled vehicle out of his ass very amusing |

| I meant it looked cheap in terms of movement, voice of characters and how he holds the gun for examples. It looks cheap like valueware cheap. Not interested here. The first Deus Ex was the best and everything after that just sucked. This looks like a lame attempt to resurrect a franchise that already shot itself in the foot badly. |

Yes, I have to agree that it looks garbage compared to modern action titles, but the engine appears to be a step up from System Shock and the previous Deus Ex release.
Since it's supposed to be an RPG, I am not interested in flashy cutscenes, engine and whatnot; a great storyline, plenty of upgrades (and upgrade paths) and gameplay will be my decisive factors in this game. |

Deux Ex, won't be a revolution in anything by the looks of it.
ui interface/interaction methods look consoletarded, demostrated linear gameplay seems uurgh.. this is a console game now, its only evolved in graphics. Nothing about it seems fun or even remotely sandboxie.
And what is with the lame stretching screen terminals.. who designed that shit :S
I have more faith in Mass Effect 3 being a better futuristic PC game port (hopefully they get mouse setting options implemented right... though perhaps that's asking too much.) |
