I played it once, about 1hour haven't bothered loading it up again. honestly my first game was loading up a map and finding I was in server with some sort of delinquent on his mic going 'lalalalalalalalalalalalala' the whole time.
I soon told him stfu and I got kicked.. that's when I realized I was playing a game designed for fucking noobtards, especially when it doesn't even allow you to mute others. I think that sums up my Alien swarm experience.
Its a game that seems got chucked out the door as freebie because it really needs a more work. Easy to see why its player base has shrunk so quickly, no direct human competition is one of those things (making it more difficult I don't really see working in the long run(maybe an extra week re-playability , loads already have complaints about the fact there is no way of downloading custom maps/ faster.. pretty fucking stupid considering the source engine supports it aswel as specifying a fast http server url, but no this is Valves dumbed down multiplayer hosting/client experience.
And the top>down view loses its novelty quickly, but playing in first person and seeing the map/engine not being designed for it ruins that. They should release Alien Swarm 2 in 12months and see if they can get away charging for it if they actually make it a worthwhile improvement, this one must be the beta version. |

| On the contrary, I finished the game. It was well done and I played a bit of MP. I got kicked a few times due to retards who I guess didn't know how to make a private server but it doesn't matter what game you play, there are always retards who think they have some god given right to be a complete jack ass on voice. The same happens on console. I agree, it sucks you can't mute people but even if you could it's annoying that you have to in the first place. I haven't played AS in a while but I hope for an expansion of sorts. |
