Priced from $199-$229, the GeForce GTX 460 cards bring NVIDIA\'s Fermi architecture to gamers on a budget.
Armed with 336 CUDA Cores, 7 PolyMorph Engines for tessellation, and high clocks, it doesn\'t disappoint when it comes to 3D performance, power consumption, or heat output. Firing Squad examines how the boa

I was just reading a review of this...

It's finally a new gen nvidia card worth owning, but it's pretty much on par with my GTX275. Not to mention DX11 games are a joke right now and will be for the foreseeable future. If I still had the 8800, then I would have gone with this...

My 260GTX is fine too, I have no interest in spending recklessly for this.

I still have a GTX285, also got Nvidia 3D vision, and its superb, really makes your games so different. The old school red/blue glasses give you a slight idea, but what you need are the active shutter glasses, i cant stand to play without it now.

GTX480 is the only one really worth upgrading to though

It is a known fact that I am no Nvidia lover myself, but this card is Fermi done right. ATI really has something to worry about now. I am considering getting this for my secondary PC. One can stop hating Nvidia if they bring such marvels at these prices. Good job Pimpidia! Razz

May be a good price but if what you have already works, why spend the money? For example, I run BC2 at 2048x1152 with most everything on high. Works great, no screen lag or anything.

On the otherhand, you got people like Baconaise or whatever his name is that turns around in a game and starts turning off smoke, fog and god knows what else so he can be better. So you handicap yourself further by buying a card that supports more and puts more on your screen so guys like him get an even bigger upperhand? Bahhh. My 260GTX is more than plenty and I don't need to fork out more money.

PC games clearly do not warrant it and my screen doesn't do 2560xblah so I couldn't be bother by a 10-15fps increase. PC is really not worth it anymore, thus why the price is so low. That's my view. Waste of money. Enjoy your cards if you get one.

I think its a little sad that benchmarks now show 60fps as a good, and that in order to achieve it you need 2 overpriced gfx cards! or an OC i7

If that is what you can only achieve with high settings on a current gen game, than you're fucked for game coming out in 6months down the line, where at the same resolution and quality you'll get even less fps. 60fps should be minimum for fps gaming! And LCD's suck with only being capable of running 1 native resolution decently without looking shit or offering up black borders.

Too much visual quality being chucked into games, I blame the games mostly that really should spend more time on gameplay/game replayability/ etc , as clearly nvidia/ati aren't going to make a major breakthrough in an amazingly fast gpu that jumps leaps and bounds over the previous gpu in speed all the while remaining power efficient and not off the charts. And for multiplayer I really do prefer higher fps for my enjoyment, sub 40fps just to play with high res/image quality is best left for singleplayer only here.

And back in the CRT days 100+ fps at 100hz was great , and 60fps lower was baaaad.. 30fps jeeesh you might aswel just watch a youtube video of someone else playing.

And "no screen lag" is what you could get with CRT display.

I've yet to see LCD technology start making any major progress on that front.

Hey that's not a native LCD resolution! You and Koogle pretend to hate eachother online but really he just lives around the corner from you and likes to let you play on his Sony G520 ...

I max out settings on MP games or singles though. Sins, HoN, NTW, ETW, and whatever else. Wink
