| The first Driver game had blown me away. Really innovative idea for the time and well executed. If I remember correctly I was playing it on a 3DFX back then. Absolute fun! |

Sure was and how they could screw up a tried and tested formula is perplexing. It was groundbreaking with its vehicle realism and physics before the advent of GTA 3 which was 3D. Probably the first 3D vehicle series that had decent realism was the Interstate series, unfortunately they failed to continue the legacy.
Maybe as with Interstate and Driver the good programmers, designers and artists moved on. They probably might be the people behind the revolutionary GTA 3, 3D engine who knows whats for certain is the preceding driver titles were abysmal and only tarnished the prestige of the original.
We need another revolution in the vehicle genre instead of the EA car clones with bloated code and hardware dependent requirements, APB maybe the answer where interstate meets GTA ? |

A new Carmageddon2 remake (not that TDR shit) with GTA gamestyle elements.
Racing games have gone to complete utter shit, there is no fun in them. At least the NFS underground games weren't bad, but EA (Exemplary Assholes) are better at screwing things up as are Ubishit. |
