At Gamescom today Microsoft announced Lionhead\'s latest project, Fable 3. Molyneux says the game\'s coming in 2010, but don\'t expect it too early. If Fable 2 was a steampunk Napoleonic era riff, Fable 3 is supposed to be...a steampunk Napoleonic era riff. That\'s according to Lionhead by way of Eurogamer anyway.

Adolescent power fantasy? Even Freud said that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
If that guy has a problem with the zero to hero and that aparantly superfluous attributes-and-levels-thing, I have a newsflash for him. A genre that is tailormade for his whims, and already has more games than you can shake a stick at! And it is called... Action-Adventure!

And if this whole character building and story developement crap annoys him too, there is such marvelous things like FPS.

I mean. Seriously.

Lets see how much more Peter manages to dumb it down this time, maybe the article's authors even gets his wish.

charakter development as it is today in rpgs was already discribed by arestoteles and is the foundation of every drama.
a hero (or just main charakter) that is faced with conflict and overcoming or just trying to overcome that conflict the charakter develops or chages.

i mean what are games like the seems or that horrible ea creature game

very very broad but pancake flat games.
