What a waste this game looks and feels so outdated, what the hell are they doing at ID ? cant they come up with new innovative ideas instead of regurgitating old tripe. They're clearly trying to lure lovers of the original into buying this crap, i've plenty of ideas if they want i'll email them "no strings attached".
Carmack wtf dude has the money and the rockets got to your head if you heart isnt in the gaming field any more and you enjoy shooting rockets into space then fairplay. Another nail in the ID coffin since Epic released their unreal serious and engines they've removed ID from the fps pedestal. Either rebrand ID or dont release a game until you've come with something resembling the original and enjoyable titles such as doom and quake.

| Gaming is supposed to be about fun. This game looks like a lot of fun. Looks a lot different than the drab feeling I had about it a week ago. I too will be forking some coin over for this one. |

| I don't even think Carmack is anything but an advisor to iD and that he helps build the engines. I thought Carmack was into cell phone games. |

ID Team
John Carmack [co-owner, technical director]
Kevin Cloud [co-owner, artist]
Tim Willits [co-owner, lead designer]
Todd Hollenshead [co-owner, c.e.o.]
Katherine Anna Kang [president, id mobile]

As co owner and technical director his words carry alot of weight nothing is approved without his agreement so this is just another way of making some "money for nothing".

Yeah thats it, he's a Technical Director, so he approves projects etc. He is also Co-owner, not sole owner, not CEO. Todd is CEO. So hate to tell you, but as John's rank in the company shows he does not hold all the cards to stop anything from being developed. He still has very little involvement in the projects themselves. From a development perspective, he is now more into other things like cellphone games, iPod and iPhone etc not to mention Quake Live(still in beta? if I remember correctly). I just read a bio on this guy and his role in ID is not what it used to be at all.
Wolfenstein is a successful project for iD with a huge community backing and to abandon that would be ludicrous. This game looks great and shows a lot of new imaginative things which gel with the fact Nazi's were experimenting on lots of weapons during WW2. Perhaps you don't like it but it looks great to me and I love games that involve killing Nazi's. Lot's of respect here for ID and Carmack. |

This game is another linear plot shoot nazis next level shoot more nazis, next level get some gadjet shoot more zombies, destroy gate, save world hooray yawn. If you going to go occult then at least base the game entirely on occult powers instead of a duke nukem model with black hair running around using guns to shoot nazis. Its been over half a century since the nazis were around besides the germans will never live get rid of the term. Unless people stop buying this junk.
My early review 6/10 and i'd be surprised if it gets that. |
