PC gamers and Epic Games were

caught by surprise when Gears of War rolled over and played dead after the game\'s digital certificate expired on January 28th.

The issue stems from the fact that as of January 28, Gears of War\'s digital certificate is expired. Those who attempt to play the game after that time

Yep, DRM etc is a great thing. It so deters pirates and stuff. And it doesn't inconvenience the legitimate owners of the game at all. Not at all... sheesh.
