It's really a no-brainer isn't it?
Console hardware doesn't change for what, 5+ years or so? Yet it sells sheds loads of games and gamers are happy with that upgrade cycle. Sales speak volumes and the method is spot-on!
So why has the PC been so greedy over the past decade? this has been the reason for its downfall. Previously hardware would last a couple of years AND you could still upgrade that 2year old mobo.
Eg; EVERY top end graphics card is the price of a NEW console (or more), it's utter madness! Whats more, it only last about 6 months before it's superceded.
Do you think consoles would be sitting pretty if they adopted the PCs mentality? Obviously not.
PC games are cheaper, yet they still can't shift them. What's the point when it costs hundreds and hundreds per year on hardware to play that 'cheap' piece of software...how ironic eh
An alliance? A REALITY check is needed!
When this 'alliance' actualy look past the £$ signs the penny may drop, but i don't think so. The only loser is the PC gamer and the winner is just, M$ et al, getting the last buck out of us all before sinking the ship once and for all.... |
