“No Assassin's Creed Demo” because it’s too difficult…

Anyone else smelling something?

Oh, well, I just hope there is one game this year that lives up to 1% of the advertising.

What bull! So B&W1/2 wasn't a sandbox game?
Yet we got both demos 'cut' out of the full game.
GTA didn't get a demo because it's a driving game and then some foot stuff. There is no linear plot to it so folks would want to drive for miles! = gigs of textures. So that's understandable.

They could easily give you a 'mission' to take-out a king for eg and have multiple paths to do it (roofs, windows, walls, shadows etc) but still show how good the AI is (or not) and the open plan nature of the level. Thief style.

The more i have seen of AC it reminds me of Prince of Persia (UBI after all); it's more about using scenery -poles, roofs, it's a wonder it doesn't have wall running!, but the actual missions are heavily scripted.
Very console orientated and more than a take on PoP.

If I was a game company, I wouldn't want to do that. Because at that point you are throwing your game up into the hands of the reviewers. And that could make or break a game.

So does not delivering a demo.
People want demos to test HW performance (on their machines) and also to get a 'feel' for the gameplay.
Reading a review is *ONE* persons opinion and not yours. I certainly don't trust ANY reviewers opinion on how a game performs. We are all dynamic humans with a plethora of likes and dislikes.
A demo makes *YOUR* mind up and not others if you will buy or not Wink

This is sinister and one would come to the conclusion that the game is riddled with bugs and eats your resources like "Cookie Monster" enjoys a cookie. I think there is no excuse other than the ones highlighted not to release a demo. I agree with the initial comments and expect there will be many future patches to fix many issues since the games release.

Another reason for this strategy is to cater for the console market first and then pc market will eventually iron out the issues for them with gripes and moans for patches.
