"To help cover this level of on-going support without passing the costs on to the gamer" thats just bullshit. they earn $$$$$$$$ on a game, they just want more cash. the things i have seen of "support" is lot of bugfixing patches on most games, and thats just becouse they ship the game before is finished.
i just cant wait to see a tampon add in ET:qw |

| hairball2> Yeah but this is multiplayer game, they make $$ once when you buy the game but they have to pay $$ each month for servers bandwidth and maintenance. If the options are either a) 1 year of bugfixes only with then saying 'byebye, it will be community-only support from now' or b) ingame ads with continuous support and improvements, i'd go wth b), as long as it isn't intrusive. Pretty much every tv show today has tons of product placement and nobody really cares. |
